Interpersonal Skills in PE

On Thursday 24/2 we had gone through an obstacle course while blindfolded, with a partner had to lead us by using effective communication. I had demonstrated this interpersonal skill by leading him with my voice and giving accurate directions to ensure his safety and being able to complete the obstacle course as fast as possible. I said to him “Feel the edge of the object with your foot and slowly make your way forward” on the wobbling bench. I knew this had worked because there were no injuries and I had given him direct directions that enabled him to work fast and accomplishment it.

I learnt that communication is a big key to sports as it really affects team performance and cooperation as you're challenged to come up with attack and defensive tactics to overcome the opposition.

  1. Kia ora Tee-Jae,
I am working with Angel and Troy to get the blogs up and working.
I like the way you gave an example of what you said to your partner to show effective communication. These sort of soft skills are really important to employers. Check these out here: https://www.careers.govt.nz/plan-your-career/not-sure-what-to-do/skills-employers-are-looking-for/#cID_2457
